Spanish Cup (Copa de Espana) - Badalona, Barcelona
This past weekend saw a very competitive field taking part in the Spanish Cup in Barcelona. The route that the organisers arranged would see us start at Puerto Olimpico and head into the wind for a couple of km's up the coast, then turn out to sea for a km or so and then race downwind back to Puerto de Badalona. On Friday afternoon we went to Puerto Badalona to register and meet up with my team mates, Esteban, Nacho and Sara.

The wind was perfect on Friday, but the forecast was for little wind on race day the next day. So the course was set for the best downwind possible, just unfortunately the wind came through the day before the race. Which made the race a brutal one. I was leading for a lot of the race and then Amaia caught up to me and we diced it out for a bit and then she look the lead and I could not respond. Well done Amaia on your win, while I was only 30 odd seconds behind her in second place with Aurora Figueras taking the final spot on the podium. Again it was awesome to be in such a close race.
Well done to my team mate, Nacho who won the U/23 and was placed 5th overall. Great paddle.
Thanks to Living Sea and Vaikobi for my awesome new race kit. The paddling clothing and the PFD were really comfortable and their paddling clothing range is great for winter and summer so go and check them out.
Check out my video of us exploring the metro and looking around the Port and Beach in Barcelona.
Thanks to everyone for your ongoing support. Next race is the Nelo Summer Challenge in Portugal, we leave in 4 weeks for that race and race between 8th-10th of July.
