Canary Island Champions

Hi All,

Over this past weekend we went to the Canary Island Championships in El Medano, Tenerife. The wind is always great on that side of the Island of Tenerife. On Saturday there was no exception, the wind steadily increased during the morning and by the time we were about to start it was great. We had to do an upwind section to the turn buoy, but once we turned it was downwind all the way home. A technical downwind as we had to head out to sea to another turn buoy before we came into the finish. My CLUB AMIGOS DEL PIRAG├ťISMO did really well and had a lot of podium finishes in all age groups. Myself and Sara finished 1st and 2nd respectively in the Open Ladies. Esteban, Nacho and Antonio finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd Overall. So the Club won the overall regional champs, thanks to the club for all your support.

It was a great event, thanks to the club in El Medano - Argonautas del Medano for putting it all together, along with paella and beer after the race.

Have a look at a clip I put together from the race and also having a little play around with editing and filming.

Next up on the 4th of June is the Spanish Cup and Selection race for European Champs, in Barcelona. I have never been to Barcelona so I am looking forward to visiting a new city and to race in a new location.

Thanks as always to Living Sea, Carbonology Sport, Knysna Racing, PaddleLife and Escuela De Vela en Los Cristianos.

Have a great week everyone and keep checking for updates, news and more videos.
